Put your hands up if you like brunch!!
When I moved to San Diego I learned of The Rising Tide Society movement around the same time I learned about the Gals that Brunch movement. Two initiatives that focuses on networking and encouraging community over competition.
Gals that Brunch is an initiative that was started by a very talented, very driven female by the name of Tiffany. The first Gals that Brunch movement was actually started in 2015 in Virginia Beach. The founder had recently moved cross-country and wanted a way to meet new friends.
"[...]They all met as complete strangers with one common goal: to find the best brunch spots in their city while making new friends, networking and establishing community amongst each other.
At every brunch, we see an incredible mix of women from all stages of life. From young professionals to industry leaders; single sistas to supermoms. Some are new to the city and others are just looking to get out, enjoy a mimosa (or two) and meet new faces. While we begin each brunch as strangers, acquaintances, and friends ‚Äď we end each brunch with a full belly and a full heart." - from Gals that Brunch website.¬†
The Rising Tide Society
The local RTS chapter here in San Diego has been a wonderful place for me to network with local creatives. To help grow my wedding photography in San Diego I like to meet other entrepreneurs in the area. The Tuesday's Together group is perfect for that. While I haven't been able to make it to any of the monthly meetings as of yet I've had the opportunity to part take in some other fun events.
Alas, when the opportunity arose in my local Rising Tide Society chapter to be part of a big collaboration that included my favorite thing - Brunch! - I was all for it. The queen Tiffany was the organizer of the entire thing. She got all the vendors together, planned it all out and hosted it at her grandparent's house in Bird Rock/La Jolla.
Sunday Brunch with mimosas
The collaboration included three different setups. We had a English Tea breakfast, a Moroccan/bohemian inspired brunch and a mimosa bar. Three very different ways to feast, but with one common denominator - to meet, eat and have fun!
And boy did we have fun! The entire afternoon just flew by and before we knew it sun was setting and it was time to go home. But not after a flora of champagne bottles had been popped, food had been indulged, and cake pops had been devoured.
A huge thank you to all the models from the local Gals that Brunch group for coming over and graciously being our "brunchers". An incredible shout out to Tiffany for putting it all together. And lastly, to the beautiful and smart female entrepreneurs who all came together with their vastly different talents to make this happen - THANK YOU! I bow down to your creativity, abilities and generosity!
There are a ton of pictures, so keep scrolling to see all of the beauty from this day!
