Beach Maternity Session

Being a first-time mom is both nerve-wracking and exciting all at the same time. And as a maternity photographer, there is nothing more exciting than taking pregnancy pictures of a family waiting for their first little one to join them. The air is filled with anticipation, unconditional love, and happiness for this little bundle of joy that they have yet to meet.

When these two reached out to book their maternity session they knew they wanted a beach session. They also really wanted to bring their two adorable dogs (which if you know me, of course, I was jumping for joy to be able to include pups in a session), so I immediately thought about the beach by the La Jolla Scripps Pier. It is big with enough room for the dogs to run around, and without too many people in the background. I also really love the red rock formations that are at the end of the beach. They make for the perfect backdrop for pregnancy pictures.

We had massive luck as we got there too. This time of the year there aren’t a ton of people people on the beach and we just missed high tide which mean we made it over to the rocks without getting stuck in too much water.

I’m so excited about these pictures and even more excited to meet their little one for his newborn session in just a few weeks. They signed up for my Bump to Baby plan so I’ll be seeing them for the next year which will be so much fun!
