San Diego Photography Studio One Year Portraits
| Minimalistic and Timeless Milestone Portraits |
It is always special when parents reach out again for their second baby’s San Diego Photography Studio One Year Portraits. It’s been 3 years since I shot his older brother’s milestone pictures, and here we are with baby brother. It’s so special. And what’s more, the mom told me that she has no preference for setups, but trusts my vision. They were so happy with their other session she knew that whatever I chose would work well.
I knew I wanted to use this new white outfit I had just arrived at the studio. And me being me, I kept it simple, classic, and timeless with a complete white setup. I think there is nothing more appealing to the eye than a monotone setup.
Brothers are the best

Baby boy was having a little bit of a rough day, but luckily big brother was there to help coach a few smiles out of him. The bed is a new staple in the studio and it works so well for sibling shots. Both during milestone sessions as well as newborn sessions. It’s big enough to where everyone can fit comfortably without falling off.
The Bed Setup

The bed is also perfect for individual portraits of babies. And also a great place for babies who aren’t quite ready to stand on their own to find their balance. It’s very versatile and useful in every session.
Take a close look at the blue image too. You may see a little extra toy making an appearance. Sometimes, toys are a lifesaver when it comes to getting little ones to cooperate. And while a red toy car wasn’t part of the initial setup, if it’s a safe toy for baby, and it makes him happy, then I’ll happily welcome it. Because while it’s always fun to have those Pinterest-perfect pictures, in the end, these are memories meant to capture the now. And if that toy, or those boots, or whatever it is that your child is obsessed with currently, it’s part of the story and memory.
