Outdoor Minimalistic Cake Smash

My little goddaughter turned ONE! I cannot believe it. How did she get so big already. I still remember doing her newborn pictures like it was yesterday, and now it was time for her cake smash session. Obviously, since I didn’t have a studio, we ended up doing it at my friend’s house. As luck would have it, the sun came it just in time, it warmed up the air just ever so slightly, and we moved our cake smash outdoors.

The cake we baked that morning. A homemade, no sugar added, bundt cake topped with homemade whipped heavy cream. The best of its kind. Topped with fresh berries it looks just like a Swedish Birthday Cake! Baby girl loved it too, although she wasn’t too thrilled with the mess the cream made when it got on her legs. But it sure made for some cute pictures.

Of course, we also had to get big brother in there for a few pictures as well as some updated family pictures. To think I first met Bethany & Joe, 12.5 years ago when I first came to the US. And now they’re my best of friends, with two amazing children and a lifetime of memories.

And how lucky am I that my husband has picked up a few tricks over the years and could snap a few pictures with my goddaughter and her brother – also knows as my little babies!
