Ok story time. Anna just found out that she’s pregnant with her first baby. She can’t wait to experience pregnancy and hold her baby in her arms. As the months fly by, Anna finds herself getting more and more excited for her new arrival. Finally, the day comes and Anna gives birth to a beautiful baby girl. She is thrilled to finally be a mom and starts spending all her time with her little one. But before she knows it, her baby is a toddler crawling around everywhere. Where did the time go?
If you’re like most parents, you want to capture your growing family in a series of beautiful photo portraits. Capturing newborns with their siblings can be a particularly memorable way to commemorate this special time.
I can’t even tell you how many parents I have that say they’d love to have some pictures of their newborn baby with their siblings, but that “it may not be possible because my toddler can be a little rowdy”. Don’t fret, I’ve got you covered. Sibling poses are one of my favorites to photograph.
How lucky are we living in such a beautiful city like San Diego. Where the weather is almost always beautiful, the sunsets are epic and we have both beach and mountains within hour drive or less of each other. With so many gorgeous locations it can sometimes be hard to pick up one for you maternity photos.
So I wanted to share with you my top 5 locations in San Diego that are favorites among my moms-to-be for their pregnancy portraits.
When do I book my maternity photos?
It’s best to book your maternity photos as you enter your second trimester and get them scheduled for between 28-34 weeks depending, on if you’re having multiples or not (multiples are scheduled earlier on) and if it’s your first or second or third etc pregnancy. This is to ensure your photographer in San Diego have spots left in their schedule to fit you in. And around 28-34 weeks you’ve popped, have a nice round belly but still able to move around enough to not feel uncomfortable during your session.
I’ve never been shy about saying how I feel about studio maternity pictures – I FRICKIN LOVE THEM!!! Seriously, they are some of my favorite portraits to capture here in San Diego, or anywhere for that matter. There is something so special about watching a mom-to-be, excitedly showcase her belly and enjoying her pregnancy.
Can you smell that? That crisp air blowing through your windows. Filled with notes of cinnamon and pumpkin.
The apple pies sitting in the window waiting to be enjoyed. Fall has arrived in San Diego and you know what that means? Pumpkin Patch Time. And this year I found a new pumpkin patch in San Diego that is super kid friendly and filled with tons of fun activities and play sets.
