From Sweden to downtown Anoka
I’m Johanna, Jo to most people, and I photograph women. I’m Swedish, and I spent nine years living in Minnesota before moving to San Diego. Now I’m back, with my studio in downtown Anoka.
Who is Freyja?
A name from the north
Freyja is the Norse goddess of love, beauty and fertility. Born and raised in Sweden, it was important to me to keep my Nordic heritage alive as I moved forward with my business. That’s how Studio Freyja came about.
How I work

I have a passion for capturing the strength, beauty and authenticity of every woman I photograph. I create images that go beyond the surface, images that celebrate who you truly are and the journey you’re on.
With fun prompts, guided posing and a warm smile on my face, I make sure your true smile and personality come through. I’ve been photographing since 2012.
You have an amazing way of helping a woman feel special and beautiful even when they’re feeling a little foreign in their body.
